Best Camp EVER

Coach Jason DeVeau and I missed the summer league games last week to take 8 Destroyer athletes to a sleep away basketball camp on the Wheaton College campus in Norton. It is one the best basketball camps that I have attended in over 30 years.

We attended the Point Guard College Prep School, a "course is designed to give athletes a vision of who they can be as a basketball player, a student, a leader, and a person. In addition to learning everything needed to play smart, strong basketball on the court, players receive five days of training in how to be a special athlete, student, and leader."

The most important of what the girls learned, in my opinion, is how to lead themselves in to special player / a player status on the court, in the classroom and in the home. The bonus that they learned are drills and skills to defeat pressure, protect the ball and break a press.

Jason and I sign a contract pledging that we would not take any video so we don't have any of our girls. This video IS what our girls experienced.

We will be returning to the camp next year with these 8 girls and any Destroyer girls who are going in to grades 7 to 10 in the Fall of 2015 who would like to attend. Point Guard College also  offers other
equally as enriching camps for older players.
