If you play every possession with focus, effort, and intensity like you did against Weston, we will be crowned the champions of our division. I could not have been prouder of each one of you during the Weston game.

Court time was not a factor. Being an impact player has more to do with just being on the court. It is about being productive when on court no matter how many minutes you played in the game. Impact is related to EFFORT. The great news is that every player can bring great effort. You did it against WESTON. We must carry that energy into the play offs.

For example if grabbing rebounds or guarding the other teams scorer is what is needed and you will yourself to grab every rebound or shut down the scorer during your shift, you will be an impact player. Your three minute shift can change the outcome of the game.

During the play offs everyone has to continue to bring something to the floor more than scoring. Everyone must bring their A+ defense, hustle from paint to paint and get every 50/50 ball. We are collectively still a team of poor shooters. Shoot anyway. Everyone is getting better and working hard on her shot. Remember that an open shot not taken is always a miss.

Our first play off game is against Sudbury (white) D5W on Sunday, March 9 at 3:40 pm at Northborough-Algonquin HS Court 1. The school is at 79 Bartlett Street, Northborough.

When we beat Sudbury, our next game will be against either Reading (White) D4N or Southboro (white) D4W on Wednesday, March 12 at 6:30 pm at Mass Premier Court 5.

The final four games will be the on Saturday, March 15 at Waltham Kennedy Middle school and Sunday, March 16 at Mass Premier Courts.

Here is the break down on Sudbury. They tied us for second place in D4W with 5 wins and 6 losses. They loss to Reading (Red) by 10 points, Weston D4N by 21 points, Newton D4W by 16 points, Arlington D4N by 11 points and Natick D5W by 3 points. They average 25 points a game and hold opponents to 27 points per game. They beat Reading (White) D4N by 2 points.

By comparison, we have 5 wins and 6 losses, average 35 points a game and hold opponents to 31 points. We beat Sudbury D4W by 5 in the preseason and Natick D4W by 20. We lost to Reading (White) D4N by 6 in overtime, Arlington D4N by 1 point, Weston D4N by 8 points, Newton D4W by 3 points in double over time, and Reading (Red) D4N by 2.

The girls voted 10 to 2 to play to win in the play offs. Everyone WILL play.
